9/9/15 – Wednesday everyone slept in, including Grammy and Pa who got in that morning. In the afternoon we went on a walk to Notre Dame. In Notre Dame it showed the story of the birth of Christ in stone carvings. Notre Dame also had beautiful stained glass windows that stretched from the floor to the ceiling. After Notre Dame we walked through the Louvre. We did not go in the Louvre, but we walked though the courtyard and saw the Pyramids in front. Then we walked down the Champs Élysées and ate pizza for dinner.
After dinner we walked down to the Arc de Triomphe and the BIGGEST ROUND ABOUT EVER!!! It was chaos. Then….. drum roll please.. we went to the top of the Eiffel Tower!!! I stuck my head though the railing and looked straight down, we were hilariously far up. You could see the entire city. You could see the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Military History Museum (Les Invalides). There was even a soccer game going on. All in all we had walked 13 miles wen we got back to the apartment.– SLaff.
I LOVE your choice of words!!! “Drum roll please…”, “Hilariously high”, etc. Grammar aside, have you recently changed your name? I thought I was the only SLaff that’s ever been in our family! Should we begin calling you “Soleil”?
Lots of love,
Aunt Sara
Keep those pics and posts coming! I love it!!!!
Dad took Alaff so we had to come up with something for me and we settled on SLaff for Soleil Lafferty.
Glad to finally catch up with your trip! Looking ff to hearing more about your 32 weeks of roadschooling- thanks for your detailed notes. .. perhaps we will follow in your shoes after we build up our resources again!
